The lawyer representing Amna Urooj, who is accused in the Khalil-ur-Rehman honey trap case, has argued in court that there is no evidence to support the allegations against her client.
During a hearing at the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore, Amna Urooj’s lawyer stated that the claims of a honey trap are baseless. The lawyer emphasized that the case lacks substantial proof.
Khalil-ur-Rehman’s lawyer has submitted a power of attorney for the plaintiff and requested additional time to prepare for the case. The court has adjourned the hearing until August 10 to allow for further preparation and consideration.
Amna Urooj’s lawyer previously claimed that Khalil-ur-Rehman began blackmailing Amna about a month ago, alleging he had compromising photos of her taken in a changing room.
Initially, Khalil-ur-Rehman, posing as a professional contact, offered to help Amna advance in her career but later made personal demands. According to the lawyer, Khalil-ur-Rehman suggested that Amna fulfill these demands to progress in the entertainment industry.
The lawyer also stated that incriminating communications are available on a mobile phone accessed by police officials, including DIG, DSP, and Investigation Officer Imran Yousuf.
Amna Urooj’s lawyer reported that Khalil-ur-Rehman had previously met with Amna twice and insisted on a third meeting where he allegedly arrived drunk and pressured her to engage in a physical relationship, threatening to leak the photos if she refused. Hasan Shah, identified as the alleged mastermind behind the gang, intervened during this meeting, warning Amna of severe consequences if she interfered.
The situation reportedly escalated when both Amna and Khalil were allegedly kidnapped by Hasan Shah. Although they were eventually released, Amna claims she was tortured by the police, who allegedly slapped her, gave her electric shocks, and pressured her to state that the incident was a honey trap.
